The Journey

Hello, my name is Sara Vargovic :)

I come from a lovely small town in Croatia. From the age of 6 there was a growing curiosity to explore different types of movement, from Aikido and kickboxing which shifted my focus onto dance arts that I actively pursue to this day. In 2015 a visit to Australia led me to the first Yoga class, and the journey of becoming a Yoga therapist and teacher began.

As a Pilates and Dance instructor it became a habit to support other teachers and take different classes - modern Yoga, Vinyasa and Ashtanga.

I continued exploring the world and discovered traditional Yoga classes, while living in Auckland, New Zealand. The post-class feeling was immediate and impactful. After doing some research I decided to go to the oldest yoga institute in India, The Yoga Institute in Mumbai, and learn how to become a Yoga teacher.

I continued teaching Yoga online and in person in Croatia (Osijek, Zagreb), in Toronto, Canada at Hand Over Hand Organisation (Yoga for people with disabilities), at Drey Dance Academy studio and Fairbank Community Center (yoga and fitness classes with seniors). Currently I teaches Chair Yoga for seniors at community centers, corporate workshops and Hatha Yoga studio classes across Melbourne, Australia.

My degrees in PR and Journalism led me to a career in events organisation, where I worked with people from different places, helping me understand the needs they have. I recognised the need for healthier lifestyle and promoting well-being, so I decided to start may chapter on becoming a public health professional trough Deakin University Master’s course in Australia.

I hope to see you soon on the mat or somewhere around! :)

Certificates

The successful completion of 200hrs Yoga teacher training and 100hrs Yoga for Wellness courses in March 2020 resulted in a major life shift. Sara knew that the knowledge she received was a gift that needed to be shared with others. During the height of the pandemic, the opportunity arose to offer classes online.

To deepen her understanding of Yoga, Sara took 80hrs Adaptive (Chair) Yoga course with My Vinyasa Practice (Texas, US), 50hrs Ayurvedic nutrition course by Jadranko Miklec, 50hrs Yoga philosophy course for Yoga teachers by Ricky Warren (London, UK) and 300hrs Yoga therapy course by Yogavidya Gurukul (Yoga point, Maharastra, India).

Sara holds a nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificate and yoga teacher Insurance.

Today, Sara continues the mission of helping others improve their well-being through the practice. Classes follow traditional Hatha Yoga principles, where gracefulness, humility, and strength meet. Awareness of breath, maintaining a balance of mind and body, and creating a healthy lifestyle are just a glimpse of the healing benefits that come with practice.

Currently, she can be found in the studio and online teaching traditional Hatha Yoga, Yoga therapy for individuals and smaller groups, and conducting specially tailored retreats and workshops.
